The Issues

The Strategic Design Initiative (SDI) process convened two workgroups to understand the problems and develop solutions to issuesr elated to employment and retention as well as cancer morbidity and mortality for Black women east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC.

Through the SDI process, the workgroups identified priority areas, focusing solutions around workforce development and streamlining healthcare.

Workforce Development

Our Workforce Development Workgroup is focused on understanding the best practices for training and support that Black women need to be successful in the workforce.

Streamlining Healthcare

Our Patient Navigation Workgroup has designed interventions to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality by addressing barriers that prevent patients from prioritizing cancer screenings, prevention, treatment, and survivorship care.
